UK Alumni Events in New York
Since 2010 the UK Alumni Group of New York has run and promoted events for UK alumni across New York and the Tri-state area. We run a few ourselves, such as our quarterly happy hours; most are put on by UK universities’ alumni groups and other UK networking organizations, and we promote them so they reach a wider audience.
What to Expect
The events we run or promote lean toward a few formats that work well and are worth repeating:
- Happy hours: relaxed, quarterly gatherings open to alumni from every UK institution.
- Speaker evenings & fireside chats: conversations with interesting people from the UK–New York community.
- Networking receptions: for making professional connections across universities.
- Informal socials: low-key get-togethers, plus “Coffee and Chats” video sessions to keep the conversation going between events.
Every event we run is open, inclusive, and held in keeping with our Code of Conduct.
How to Hear About Events
The best way to hear about the events we run or promote is to join our mailing list. We send our regular email updates with event listings, and a curated round-up of alumni events worth knowing about. If you would like it, we will also invite you to our WhatsApp group, where members arrange socials and share news. You can also follow us on LinkedIn, or ask your own university’s alumni organizer.
